For what it's worth your ancestral religion would be Catholic not Anglican since they broke away from the Catholic Church.

Just clarifying your statement.

And to clarify even further, his ancestral faith is Orthodox Catholic, up to about the 1200's AD, before the Danes invaded and the by-then heretical pope took over.

Where did you collect THIS piece of historical, um, information? Last time, it was William the Conqueror who was the Pope's lacky in heretiocizing England.

Symeon,

I hope you are doing well. I to sometimes get disgusted by all the division (I cause more than my share :( ). However, FWIW, I've always found it helpful to remember that Church history is full of division. Sadly, it's a part of Church life, because human beings (and not all of them totally Christian) are constantly interacting with the Church. I doubt that one generation has gone by since Christ came that there was not some type of division or needless arguments. Even some of the Apostles got into disagreements and arguments, and already in the New Testament we see lots of divisions and strange teachings and warnings to stay away from so-and-so. I've come to the conclusion that wanting a 100% peaceful church life, while perhaps a nice fantasy, is a bad thing to pray for, because it's not going to happen. As long as man has free-will, and is allowed to exercize it, there will be division.

In fact, if there is not division for a great length of time, then I would submit that the people involved are either 1) the most pious and orthodox people in millenia, or 2) so vague and moderate that they place unity above orthodoxy, grace, and truth. Unity cannot be found at any cost, because that price is too high to pay: we end up selling the Church to Satan, for the appearance of a strong, healthy, vital body of Christ. In reality, Satan is doing perverse experiments on us, but we refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem because we are either too in love with how healthy we think we look, or we simply want to ignore that God does allow us to be tested and infiltrated.

Wow, I said more than I had planned to. Hopefully that doesn't sound like something said from a soapbox.
