Dear in Christ Symeon,

Hey, hang in there. You'll find a parish. I don't think Christ expects us to know "scientifically" all the details and issues about this or that jurisdiction. Just avoid the places where there is chaos and destructive people. At some point you need to be worshipping and not "thinking" about "who said what", or "who did what". In a way you're correct when you say you have to get your nose out of things. In some ways that is good advise for all of us.

BTW, you had originally written concerns about all the westerners who were peasants and had no control over what the Kings did in becoming Roman Catholics and Anglicans. Met. Philaret wrote an article concerning the Protestants and RC's and what happens with them. In essence, God will judge them differently than the Orthodox.

Keep up the struggle, because indeed the struggle you're going through is something we will all go through in these days.

in Christ,
Nectarios

Symeon,

I don't know if it is on-line. It is a monograph that he wrote and I know it is probably available from Jordanville. If I find my copy I will contact you. In terms of on-line sites, you may want to check out www.orthodoxinfo.com. This is a pretty good site for info.

yours,

Symeon,

You said,

Besides that, it is my ancestral religion

For what it's worth your ancestral religion would be Catholic not Anglican since they broke away from the Catholic Church.

Just clarifying your statement.

God Bless!

And to clarify even further, his ancestral faith is Orthodox Catholic, up to about the 1200's AD, before the Danes invaded and the by-then heretical pope took over.

This little comment does not do any justice to just how true this is. The people of the English Isles were as Orthodox as any Orthodox, in faith and practice.

OOD,
How interesting...
Can you direct me to some more info on this? My sister has a Baptist mother-in-law and this would come in handy at the current state of their "dialogue".
