Fine Joasia,
It was a knee-jerk reaction, shouldn't have done it. I do apologize for my way of speaking (writing, whatever) in my original post.
I didn't say anyone was going to hell either, so why would you call me judgmental, if that's your definition? My opinion stands that the people in those groups are... greatly misled in the spiritual & mental sense. As far as them going to hell or not... God only knows... I don't know where you got the idea that I was condemning them to hell just by thinking they are kooks.
As far as my humor... I think it's funny, and so do several other people who have pm-ed me to tell me so. I could say that you lack humor, but then, I've never met you, nor do I particularly care if you find me funny or not.
As far as us deserving a perfect church... ummm... we're human, nothing will ever be perfect, who ever said anything about that? We can't expect anything to be perfect until (if) we reach the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ania,

What I should have said was united church, not perfect. All these divisions within divisions is certainly not a blessing.

I don't lack humour, but I do get very serious when I see jokes with Christ, our Lord and Saviour as the subject. That wipes the smile right off my face.

Some people may agree with you, but I'm sure there are just as many people that don't.

The fact that you don't understand where I'm coming from gives me an impression (not judgement) of you.

I feel the same way when I see women wearing earrings that are Crosses. They make the Cross become like plain jewelry. And please let's not get into the symantics of pendant crosses. They are worn for faith.

Maybe I should start a poll on this subject?

What do you think, Ania? Or has this subject been done before?

Though I've never worn cross earrings, I wear low enough shirts & short enough chain for the cross around my neck that it's almost always visible. Sometimes people think I only wear it for jewelry purposes. I don't think Orthodox should wear crosses for earrings, but then, besides the religious aspect, I think it just looks tacky. But then again, are you talking crosses that have a longer bottom than top, or if all 4 bars are proportinate to each other... Also, depending on what the material used, they can look extremely different, and not look like crosses at all... anyway, that's neither here, nor there, and I'm babbling & it's time to be off... beautiful day outside (90* & sunny) and I need to be by my pool roasting, rather than in my airconditioned office freezing.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and be safe on the 4th... remember, even if your not drinking, (you shouldn't be, after all, it's still lent...) remember lots of other people are, so be safe.
