...every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoreth her head... (I Cor. 11:5)
it is a straight forward phrase. Any woman who doesn't humble herself with a head covering while in the Presence of God dishonors herself! You cannot take it metaphorically! It isn't possible!

Notice the bolded words:

Any woman who doesn't humble herself with a head covering while in the Presence of God dishonors herself!

Now if you look at it from the perspective of "how did a woman humble herself in THAT culture during THAT period in time" you will understand that it is NOT about the "head covering". It is about the woman HUMBLING herself before God. It just so happend to take the form of a "head covering" when that scripture was written.

It could have said "an armband" "IT" is not important.

"IT" is important! We follow traditions, written and unwritten! We follow written Holy Scripture! Holy Scripture written by the Holy Apostle Paul, therefore it is to be taken with seriousness and obedience! Yes, That was the way women humbled themselves in that time period. Remember this, the SACRED vestments of the Orthodox Church originated from the regular dress in the time period f the Holy Apostles and The Lord Jesus Christ, the Church did not change the vestments every time the fashions of the world changed! And therefore the Tradition of women covering their heads while in Church has not been changed, and should not be tampered with!

Read. Search. Explore. Find the Holy traditions that are no longer a part of "Praxis" and tell me why they are not.

I have not the time now, I am making preparations to leave. But you see wht's wrong with that statement, the covering of a women's head IS still in TRUE Orthodox Praxis!

Well, I dont mean LITERALLY now. I mean that as a general rule.

That depends -- how is "TRUE" Orthodox Praxis defined. Is it based on a total count of people from either side of the issue? If that's the case then I submit that more Orthodox women do NOT cover their heads in Church.
