good reads

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

good reads

Post by sashaedwardovna »

Has anyone read the Chronicals of Narnia? Absolutely wonderful! It's amazing that with so many referances to everything in the Scriptures, the liberals and the atheists haven't banned his books. Especially good and allegorical is The Magician's Nephew (whering the Creation story takes place, as well as the fall of Lucifer, or in this case, Jadis) The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (where Aslan, or Christ, dies for the "traitor" Edmund, who is like us, then denies death by rising again) and The Last Battle which is practically Revelations down to the letter. Just more understandable. If anyone has children, or even just desires an uplifting and edifying read, I definitly suggest them.

I agree 100% as well! My husband introduced me to the Narnia books and I agree that they are very good! I also would like to pass on another couple of good book suggestions as well... G.K. Chesterton's short story collections of The Father Brown stories and also Dorothy Sayer's Lord Peter books. They are both about mystery/detective type of stories. I would reccomend these books to others also! Sorry to not go in much detail about them, I'm running on very little sleep today since I worked midnight shift last night :) I hope to be able to post more often in the near future though :)
