Demetri,

A bishop cannot have pastoral concerns about dirt or trees. A bishop is a shepherd of souls, so that souls can be saved from the earth, which is going the way of darkness. He is not trying to save the earth, or help create a world where all of our social problems are solved and the stomach of every man will be filled. This is what the Jews are waiting for - this will be the Antichrist!

Unfortunately, you once again display a rather thin understanding of the Orthodox view of His Creation and our place within it, and our responsibilities. A world steeped in Orthodox reverence will solve most, if not all, of these problems, making them moot and freeing us to concentrate on Theosis.
And what does a liturgical calendar have to do with this topic anyway, save a usual negative response to anything YOU don't think is Orthodox?

I partly agree with OOD. Wow.

Partial agreement. This is twice now??

Demetri,

And what does a liturgical calendar have to do with this topic anyway...?

Who dared to mention the calendar? :D

VATICAN CITY, JUN 22, 2004 (VIS) - On Tuesday, June 29, Solemnity of
Sts. Peter and Paul, Apostles, the Pope will celebrate Mass at 6
p.m. in St. Peter's Square. Patriarch Bartholomew I, ecumenical
patriarch of Constantinople, will attend the ceremony.

According to a communique from the Office of Liturgical Celebrations
of the Supreme Pontiff, the patriarch will be received by the Holy
Father at 5:45 p.m. in the Vatican Basilica and will then
participate in the celebration. John Paul II and Bartholomew I will
deliver a homily and pray the profession of faith together.

The celebration will take place 40 years after the historical
embrace of Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Atenagoras I in Jerusalem in
January of 1964.

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 23, 2004 (Zenit.org).- On the solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul, the Pope will continue a tradition with the Orthodox which this year will include a visit by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I himself.

John Paul II will preside at a 6 p.m. Mass next Tuesday in St. Peter's Square. Beforehand he will welcome Bartholomew I of Constantinople in the interior of St. Peter's Basilica. Together they will deliver the homily and recite the profession of faith, according to a note issued by the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff.

For years, on the solemnity of the patrons of Rome, a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople has attended the Mass. A Vatican delegation makes a reciprocal exchange on the feast of St. Andrew in Constantinople -- modern-day Istanbul, Turkey.

Symbol of Faith

So, now that this has all taken place, I wonder if the "Supreme Pontiff" in the profession of Faith said "And in the Holy Spirit...Who proceedeth from the Father, who with the Father and the Son..."

If they prayed it in Greek, I'm sure he did say it sans Filioque.
