Getting my own copy of the Prologue

Post by Theodora Elizabeth »

Everywhere I turn, I run into suggestions I should have my own copy of the Prologue. What's the best source and edition? And how much will I end up spending?

Thanks,

There are a number of sites online that have the whole thing. Google Prologue from Ohrid and you'll come up with dozens.

Conciliar Press has a decent edition that's not too expensive for a 2 volume hardback set:

It is also worth considering the Great Horologion published by HTM. It is about the same price and has all the daily lives of the saints plus thier apolotikion and kontakion. It also has the all the unchanging liturgical texts and other good stuff...the draw back is how massive it is and it doesn't have the little reflections and homolies that are in St. Nikolai's.

I'd second the suggested link by Schultz. $100 is how much my wife paid when she got our Prologue (the only difference being that ours is in 4 volumes)

Justin & Shultz ~

Thank you. I was just browsing through St. John of Kronstadt Press' website and found the same two volume set by St. Nikolai for $100. Apparently, this is something of a revision, including a new translation and additional material, of the well-known four-volume set, according to the website's description.

Add that to my list...
