wow there are still people under Archbishop Auxentius's successor Archbishop Maximos?

He lost HOCNA because of his weird consecrations, took in "Metropolitan" Pangratios, etc. Doesn't seem the most organized of the Old Calendar Synods.

...Mr. Wright calls them a gnostic heresy...

...Well that's simply an opinion...

This is not about Mr. Wright, but just a general question/observation. Since when did heresy become a matter of opinion? I've seen that said a couple different times now. Since when is it fine to have an "opinion" about something being heretical and someone being a heretic, as though if they are wrong in their "opinion" that it's no big deal? In the Old Testament, God gave an interesting legal principle to the people of Israel: if you accused someone of something, and you were falsely accusing them and were found out, you would get the same penalty as the person you were accusing would have gotten had they been convicted. Applied to the situation of charging someone with heresy (which leads to eternal damnation), the implications of this are quite scary (though I believe, real). The moral is, you better be absolutely sure if you are going to make such a claim. Truly the Fathers were right to speak ill of "opinions" (I say that admittedly that I am hypocritically opinionated).
