I didn't say Byzantine Born. I said born-Byzantine Catholic. i.e. cradles. Hardly any cradle Byzantine Catholics go Orthodox. Most go Roman Catholic (through marriage or distance from Byzantine Rite parish) or stop practicing.

Cradle "Byzantine" Catholics are pretty much extinct I would believe.

What do you base that on? The vast majority of Byzantine Catholics in America are cradle. Almost all Byzantine Catholics in Ukraine and Slovakia (6 million) are cradle.

My impression (admittedly limited) of the Ukrainian Catholics in Canada is that their churches are thriving.

Lucian,

Ukrainian Byzantine Catholics are thriving due to immigration. Ruthenian Byzantine Catholics who generally call themselves just "Byzantine Catholics" are the ones dying out.

Hopefully they all die out sooner or later.
