A seemingly well-intentioned World Orthodox "priest" would further add that the so-called, proposed 8th Oecumenical Council was quashed by the JP. As God made the world in 7 days, so the Church proclaims the 7 Councils. There will not be an 8th - except chaired by you know who!- and supported by the left and the right, but not by those of us in the middle.

At SVS in one class it was mentioned that there will probably be no Great Council now because the result would be schism between Moscow and Constantinople.

Yes I believe those two councils are ecumenical.

Hi guys just wanted to say that St.Nilus the myrgusher (sorry for the spelling) prophecied about The 8th Ecumenical council, he called it a "false council" that will unite ALL HERISIES together, plus I've did Major research for the past 4 years on prophiecies from Orthodox Saints about 8th counc,world war 3,antichrist, there is still a few more things that have to happen 1. the final Pope has to come his name is supposed to be "Petros" from what I've heard he's going to be very openly sinnful, he will be the one to call the 8th fasle ecumenical council, 2.after that (physical) persicutions will begin especially in nonOrthodox countries, I didn't hear/read about what will happen inOrthodox Countries (concerning persicutions) but the persicutions will be against Orthodox Christians Monophizites/Catholics/Protestants/Musilms/-and Pagans of ALL sorts who will not accept the Unholy council, (I'm an Orthodox and belive there's no salvation outside the Orthodox Church) after this N.A.T.O. will do one more military strike in Srbia a little while after that Turky will invade Greece then thats the straw that will brake the Camels back then the 3rd World War will begin, every thing that I've written is from 4 years of research and I cross referanced this by talking to Two Holy Elders(can't tell you who they are without a blessing) so please PRAY for me for I'm so into reaserching into Russian Military- tech -strenghth- history that I always forget to just SHUT UP and say the Jesus Prayer and read spiritual books in stead.
