Pictures of Miracles?

The link Tessa posted is very alarming.. pretty much freaked me out. I'm referring to the exsorcism video in particular. While I did hear about things like that, this is very new to me.. very ALARMING for the lack of better word right now.

Can someone offer any explanation of what these phenomena are considered to be? Is this a hoax or is it for real? This is just very disturbing visual. It's in Russian but you don't need to follow the story recited by the correspondent - what you'll see would be enough.

Honestly, those photos could be done by anyone with a moderate knowledge of photography. I have seen the site before and thought it was sad, fake and possibly spiritually damaging to set one's faith in such things.

Well, at least the photos of the squiggly lights. That's just a question of the speed of the film! Nothing mysterious about that really.

Are you talking about the Coptic site where there is a supposed vision of the Theotokos or the Russian one that Tessa posted?

I personally don't believe the Marian vision at the Coptic church bit; for no other reason than the pictures look so fake to me, like right out of a movie or something.

I didn't say the site was real, or that I believed it or anything. I found it about a year ago and found it to be interesting. I don't find it any more scandalous than any of the Marian apparitions or even the Holy Fire for that matter. Fortunately the Good Lord created us all to have brains and form our own opinions about things. And did someone not earlier post the link of orthodoxphotos.com? Nobody freaked out about that one, and that's interesting because almost all the photos from the link I posted are contained in orthodoxphotos.com.

I dunno about pictures (It's true, that anyone with a basic knowledge of photography can fake a picture of a miracle. I did see a video once of a priest excorcise a woman, it was very highly disturbing. The lampadi in the church shook, and the woman was shreiking, an inhuman sound if I ever heard one. It was highly disturbing.
Anyway, I did hear of one miracle that could not be explained by anything medical.
A few years ago, a church was being restored in Russia my parents visited right after, so it was still fresh news & people were talking about it pretty much non-stop. One agnostic construction worker was sent up to gild the cross on the highest dome. He fell, bouncing off the roof and then to the ground. The church was the biggest in the city, and was many stories high. While falling he screamed "Gospodi Pomiluy!" When he landed, he had not a bruise on him, nor any broken bones. He walked away from it, and was baptised the very next day. That's pretty darn miraculous if you ask me. And yes, before anyone asks, it was an MP church.

A thought (or a suggestion) on miracles. The next time you are reading through the Bible, keep track of the miracles done by God and God's people, and keep track of the results. What you find might suprise you.
