Of course, being the kind of guy I am...I find it interesting that this great saint, a spiritual father to St. Justin Popovich would have lived and reposed amongst the "heretical" Metropolia. Unless of course, everything changed in the Metropolia after the 1950's. :wink:

Everyone has their line in the sand :) St. Justin Popovich recognized the Ecumenical Patriarch as Orthodox in a letter he wrote in 1977 (even while saying that the Patriarch had papal-like ambitions). He also supported the old calendarists the EP attacked. I guess St. Nikolai had a different line than others, like Met. Philaret, who considered the OCA schismatic (St. Justin also apparently did reach a line in the sand, since he broke from his bishop at one point because of his ecumenical activities). And, actually, now that you mention it, the OCA did change a great deal after the 1950's, as did the rest of World Orthodoxy.
