As for Bishop Gregory, he moved to Colorado, in the mountains, away from people to form a skete with only $20 to his name. He had faith that God would provide, and he has. Of note, he did this as a monk in ROCOR and was made an Archimandrite after time since he was doing such great work. This was definitely not about money.

By THOC are you speaking of the Cyprian TOC hierarchs in Berkley, CA?

Joseph,

I think Colorado and California are magnets for the noveau riches, who are also often attracted to eccentric, self-validating religions. It's really a very simple generalization, and an easy one considering real estate and religious trends among fashionably self-righteous egoists.

Speaking of self validation...

Pretty weak, man.

Do you mean my criticism as a whole or specifically my generalization which you cited?

To dumb it down for a minute Seraphim, if I may. You and your ilk are constantly trying to reach an audience that does not want to hear you. Did you notice? If you are interested in reaching me or them with your message, then you must TRY to understand the wall you must break through. (As I said, this is if you are interested in reaching anyone with your message.) This sort of sarcastic nonsense, like the Parthian shot above, without even the shadow of an argument, makes you and your cause seem, well... not really worthwhile to consider. Forgive me if I seem rude, but your little graffito is, if I may say so, Pretty weak, man. If you are truly serious about what you are doing here, then you might try to make some effort if only for appearance sake. So here is your commission, if not from some authority greater than yourself then from no one at all: Convince me and others like me. Apparently we need it?

Very Sincerely albeit Pedantically Yours:
Joseph
