Dear OL,

My apologies if this thread has caused you any grief. :)

I commend you for considering receiving your spiritual father's blessing to visit a Coptic Orthodox parish. I hope it will be, at the very least, an educational experience for you.

I want to thank Anastasios too, for posting the link to one of the Coptic Liturgies; I hope you will read it. In addition, the following links to other Oriental Orthodox Liturgies may prove helpful:

Syrian/Indian Orthodox: http://sor.cua.edu/Liturgy/Anaphora/index.html

Armenian Apostolic: http://www.cilicia.com/armo_badarak00.html

Ethiopian Orthodox: http://www.ethiopianorthodoxchurch.org/ ... _book.html (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

I went out and did some question anking and research for my self on the topic of Monophysites being in communion with the Antiochian Orthodox Church, this is the answer I got from another Copt, on a Coptic message board.

P.S. This is the church that is near me. St. Abanoub. This is there message board. I have also written the "Cotpic Orthodox Church, S. California Diocese" for information on the Coptic and Antiochian Churches being in communion. I asked if any Non-Chaldeaian "Church" is in communion with the Antiochian Orthodox I will post the email when I get a reply from them.

OrthodoxLearner,

The pastoral agreement allowing Eucharistic sharing was between the Greek Orthodox and Syrian Orthodox Antiochian Patriarchates. So Copts would not be involved.

Please note that I do not subscribe to "Old Calendar Ecumenism" and believe that only the Synod of Archbishop Kallinikos is the canonical GOC of Greece. I do believe, however, that we can break down barriers and misunderstandings through prayer and discussion on forums such as this one.

Yes but no one except the Syrians is unlikely to know about it as it was not widely publicized.

Also, you should refer to non-Orthodox Churches as Churches not "churches". It's not polite. Poeple these days think if they have the true faith they can be blunt and confronatational and spiteful as they want. You may not believe they are a Church as the Orthodox Church is but they are still an ecclesiastical body, and in English we call that a Church.
