The slavic side of my family are all fairly short to medium height and pretty dark. My grandfather and father were/are the darkest of the bunch. Hmmm... Might have been some mixing with the mongols.

Yea,
I have probably very little Russian blood in me, if at all (mostly Sicilian actually) but my great grandmother on my father's side was Carpatho-Russian. However, she looked almost completely Asian. In fact, when she first immigrated to America, the other Slavs in her neighborhood called her ''Chink'' .

Took down pics to save webspace for nik.
Ania,
You may be surprised to know there are Orthodox Turkish peoples in Russia called the Chuvash and more Orthodox Turks in Moldova called the Gagauz. Its just that there are probably none in Turkey (Which we all know is just occupied Greece)
Sorry bogoliubtsy, I don't mean to ignore your very nice pictures....
Sorry Nik, promise not to talk about this any more on this thread
Don't really see what the problem is...I think there are really very few pure bloods in the world. I'm Russian .... if you orver look the Tartar great, great grandmother... who was stolen by my great, great, grandfather who was a Cossack. hee hee hee I'm told I resemble her a bit.
Supposedly Cossacks used to do that a lot. The mongul and Tartar brides were reputed to be the most faithfully Orthodox of brides.
Marriage Photos
Given the recent talk of marriages I thought I would post some from mine and my wife's wedding.
