Archbishop Damianos of Sinai is recognized by most everyone, so it's funny to hear conflicting reports from various "traditional" jurisdictions on their take on the Patriarchate.
Didn't your former Lamian hierarchs Paisios and Vikentios have communion with Jerusalem in 1992? Were they punished for this? I ask out of genuine interest, not trying to start a flame war.

Please note that I do not subscribe to "Old Calendar Ecumenism" and believe that only the Synod of Archbishop Kallinikos is the canonical GOC of Greece. I do believe, however, that we can break down barriers and misunderstandings through prayer and discussion on forums such as this one.
Granted, there was no Lamian synod in 1992 but these guys were part of the group that founded your Synod, right?

I have heard this question asked many times: the real question is that since the Holy Fire appears through history only to the Orthodox, how can it be that the JP (and by proxy all the ecumenists) is without Grace?
I know True Orthodox Christians from our Synod go to see the Holy Fire every year; could it be that the Holy Fire appears for them to light their candles in spite of everyone else? Didn't Christ appear to everyone knowing only those few would really see him? Anyone who would pretend to know the Mysteries of the Holy Fire is deluded.
If the Holy Fire, or just the same, the Grace of God acts through ecumenists showing them to be the "light of the World", then I might as well be a Latin since these "lights" preach they are part of the Church. I think the anti-thesis is clear, that these self-appointed "succesors" of the real "lights of the World" are not really so and clearly they must not have anything to do with the true faith.
In general, I think it to be a very dangerous thing to rest your faith and salvation on miracles, healings, visions, and apparitions. This is primarily because I do not understand as I have not been told my Lord the mystery behind all of these things.
It is either this or an alternative: We can have a faith based soley on who the Holy Fire appears to and what that person preaches and who he communes with.
