Does anyone know anyone who left a traditionalist synod for a modernist one BECAUSE of ecumenism and the calendar? (my impression is that this is an unheard of phenomenon)

I know of at least one Orthodox man who turned to the EP knowing full-well (and once a opponent of) all of the issues and concerns plaguing the beleaguered ecumenist church.
But as it says in scripture, like a dog turning to its own vomit...
II Peter 2:18-22
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
They left the Old Calendar movement because they claim that they came to the conclusion that opposition to ecumenism in their Church bordered on extremism and it was unhealthy. This Church that they left is ECafe Moderator OOD's, so I am sure he will be happy to provide his Synod's alternative point of view regarding Met Paisios.
Disclaimer: Many older posts were made before my baptism and thus may not reflect an Orthodox point of view.

Please note that I do not subscribe to "Old Calendar Ecumenism" and believe that only the Synod of Archbishop Kallinikos is the canonical GOC of Greece. I do believe, however, that we can break down barriers and misunderstandings through prayer and discussion on forums such as this one.
I don't know of any alternative view of our synod other than the obvious.
This is no popularity contest (I don't mean to sound ignorant). The truth of the Church does not depend on how many bishops, priests, or lay people agree which is why we have the "Seventh Ecumenical Synod" of 754 with over 350 Bishops who condemned the Orthodox and the REAL Seventh Ecumenical Synod of 787 with just 70 Bishops (correct me if I am wrong). These Iconoclasts only said, "you can have your icons, just hang them a little higher". How "extreme" it would have seemed to the likes of Vikentios to separate over being able to venerate icons! And to ordain the iconoclasts into the priesthood as if they were never priests over such a "petty issue" - that would have been impossible to Vikentios and Paisios.
We are not extreme because ecumenists are not at all tolerant. They are recklessly tolerant with theological issues and very tolerant of anyone who disagrees with Orthodoxy and preaches against it; but where is their tolerance with those who disagree with them and preach the truth?
The way of the masses is always the easiest.
I could not comment on Paisios and Vikentios personally other than they have taken different positions and confessed different faiths at different times. It is very sad to see anyone fall, especially people who others look to for guidance. I pray they will return.
I will say I have never known a weeping icon to be a good thing.
For my general view, see above.
