It's hard to understand how you can again say "deposed." Neither bishop was deposed, as they both are still able to serve as bishops of the Church (I know, I have seen Arch Iakovos serve several times). They were retired. Please use the proper terms. Deposed means, "no longer a cleric/reduced to lay status."
Spyridon had a lot more evil going on than misappopriation of funds. That's all I'm going to say.
I would agree with you, however, that oftentimes the wrong man becomes patriarch.
