The life of St. Barsanuphios. Wonderful wonderful. Ranks right up there with the books on the Desert Fathers.

Royal Way of the Cross of Our Lord by St John Maximovitch I

Post by 尼古拉前执事 »

I am reading The Royal Way of the Cross of Our Lord – Leading to Eternal Life by Saint John (Maximovitch) of Tobolsk and Chernigov. I have loved it so much that I added it to the portal as the Adult book of the Month for March. I highly recommend it!

Ahhh, reading..... my favorite pastime.

As I am an avid reader, I'll start with the latest & go backwards. Right now I'm reading Dancing Alone: the Quest for the Orthodox Faith in the Age of False Religion by Frank Schaeffer. I am definitely enjoying it! Schaeffer is able to support his theories about the affect that secularism has had on the American society pretty well.

Just recently, I finished Consoler of Suffering Hearts by Archpriest Sergei Lebedev.....about the "life, councils, & miracles of Eldress Rachel, visionary of Russia." very uplifting

And lastly, Youth of the Appocalypse and the Last True Rebellion I would definitely reccommend this book to the serious-minded teen....it was a quick read, but that could be just 'cause it was sumthing that i was really interested in.

I am 16, so if y'all could reccommend any books that you think are written more for my age group, I would truly appreciate it! Thanks!

Esther

Welcome your highness,

(In case anyone was wondering why I call her that, Esther here, is a real live princess!) On our portal page, they youth books marked with a cross(†) are ones that are great for a teenaged audience. I have to totally agree with your Youth of the Apocalypse suggestion too.
