Giving up thetre, movies and television entertainment ...

Post by 尼古拉前执事 »

If one has not the strength to stop watching television, movies, theatre and the such from reading the above posts, perhaps it will help give them the strength to at least give it up during Great Lent. After giving it up for 40+ days, it is much easier to give it up for good.

Some years back I gave up posting on the Internet for Lent.

I have a bad addiction to the TV and Internet (more so the Internet) I am especailly addicted to sadly, reality shows :( The Apprentice, American Idol and so on. I also like soap operas, especially one of my favourite shows, "Emmerdale" which is a British soap opera. I also watch Oprah and Dr. Phil...and a lot of comedy sitcoms. As well as Muchmusic (the local music channel here in Canada)

..

I need help I know. But I said I'm more addicted to the Internet than the TV so you can imagine how much time I spend sitting around on it. It's mostly because of MSN messenger. Wow, if I could go without it for at least 4 days I would be amazed.

I think that I will try though, as much as I can to at least start eliminating some of these things. But when I get home from school, I think TV or Internet? (mostly TV after school) and by me admitting that just now makes me feel so ashamed of myself. How utterly lazy I am! Argh.

Hey Valentina, and everyone else as well, check out this link I am posting. Its a questionaire that you fill in over a couple of web pages.

It doesnt take long, and is really worth it, believe me. It helps to take some time with your answers to the questions, so that the results are as accurate as possible.

Please, anyone who likes to watch alot of T.V. - take this survey and see what happens. It is good for Lent, to examine ourselves too. I hope you guys try this, it changed my attitude for ever.
