Job Interview @ 11.15

Post by Грешник »

Ok, itsalmost 9am now and about 20 mins ago I got a phone call from GRAVEN, AUSTIN, AND DRAKE. Other wise known as GAD Telecom.

I have an interview at 11.15 today. Here is a bit of info on the company. If this works out I will be set!

Telephone Sales Representative

We currently have openings for telephone sales representatives. Applicants must have strong phone skills with the desire to succeed in a sales environment.

We offer our Sales Representatives:

Short Work Weeks (30-hour work week)
Day and Evening Shifts
Weekends off
Sales Bonuses & Incentives
Opportunity for career advancement
Transportation Assistance
Health Benefits

End of post

As I said this seems to be a great opportunity. With weekends off I won't have to worry about missing Liturgy. It seems that the pay is very competitive although I will find out more today.

After mapping the directions it seems that the distance to Gad Telecom from my apartment comes to 7mi. in 15 mins. Not bad. That map info was thanks to MAPBLAST.com.

When mapping on YAHOO MAPS the distance comes to 7.2 mi. in 16 mins.

Sorry I just like to be prepared.

Well in either case thisis the first call back I have had since I got here so I am a bit excited. Please pray that something positive happens. Funny thing is the application has not even been turned in for more than 24 hrs. Creepy.

Thanka for the prayers.

Greetings All!

Well, here's the deal. First off thank you for the prayers. I appreciate that.

I got the job... or at least had it... for 6 hours...

The job was telemarketing. Ironically that day we were selling renewals for Fundamentalist Christian magazines. I was never told that I had to make 8 sales per day, in fact the paperwork I signed sais 2. Well, as the day went on I actually made my two and then they pushed for more.

What struck me ws the way that they encourage you to lie to the customers to get them to stay.

They will just about say anytihng to the customer outright lying to them and oone cares I saw this all day. "Well, we have this offer and you get these if you do it..." I told them I wouldnt lie for them. They let me go.

So bottom line is I HAD the job and then lost it and now am looking for sometihng else. I ask for more prayers please :)

Thanks

Juvenaly

I'm sorry that you lost the job too, but maybe it was for the best...it's good that you stood up to them and refused to lie to people to get them to buy things. I will be praying for you still! Hope you find something better!

<Dancing>

I got a job! I got a job!

Ok, so I went out last week and applied with another telecommunications company. They do icoming customer service for a cell phone company. This is good cause it will allow me Sunday's off. I can keep my beard, and I will be able to build up the Church.

Praise God!
