Please pray for our friend Peter, Orthodox, married and father of four children, who has a double pulmonary embolism. Mercifully doctors diagnosed this potentially fatal problem -- this is the beginning of healing. But it will be a long haul for Peter, his wife Maria, and their four children.
Prayers for Peter

A pulmonary embolism is a clot that has dislodged from somewhere (usually from the large, deep veins in the legs - from "DVT's" (deep venous thromboses)) and migrates up to the heart where it's pumped out through the pulmonary arteries into the lung vasculature. There it lodges in the small vessels and can kill lung tissue becuase it obstructs the blood supply. Large pulmonary emboli (PE's) are often fatal. It is very good his were caught in time -- usually people present with shortness of breath when they present with PE's. Having a PE means that you will have to be on anticoagulation (usually warfarin (trade name: coumadin) at this time) for a certain amount of time to prevent future clots from forming. Some of us have predispositions to forming clots -- often genetic mutations. Cancer, estrogen use, and prolonged immobility are among other factors that also predispose to clot formation. "Double" PE's simply means that there are 2 of them.
I hope this was helpful.

Keep praying.
Many thanks for all your prayers. Peter is home and being treated as outlined with medication to dissolve the clot. Both Vladyka Alexander and Peter should be in our prayers for a while to come. Healing takes time. Thank you for your prayers.
In Christ,
