Father Mark, I think you have to be a moderator or administrator in order to do the sticky posts or the announcent posts.... it seems that they are the only ones who have those options.

Who decides what topics are worthy of such prominence?
If indeed only Mods and Admins can use such functions, you are certainly welcome to suggest threads that you think are "prominent" enough. For my own part, I can't remember ever using the function, but I do have the ability to use it when necessary.

No, I wouldn't presume to single out any such thread. My opinion is that a thread should live or die on its own merits. I was curious though. Topics like "Having trouble logging in" or "how to address clergy" have an abiding purpose (although I would rather see them in a separate Forum category called Announcements). I just found it odd that ROAC would have requested, let alone received, such special visibility for polemical writings . I guess I didn't realize that the allegiance of one of the moderators would be [allowed to be] expressed in this way - even if such tactics do not surprise me. No doubt the words of a martinet are more important than all others to true believers.
