A holy Place

Post by user_211 »

Hello everyone,
My name is Theophan and I am new to this group. I don't if this is the proper forum to ask my question but I won't know until I try, right? Well I just wanted to ask if anyone knows where St. Theophan the Recluse's relics are housed(city, church etc). I would really appreciate it because I am thinking about making a pilgrimage there in the near future. Thanks.
Blessings and Peace
Theophan

Dear Theophan
A Blessed Namesday!
According to the book "The Spiritual Life" published by St. Herman Press his relics are in a village church near the Vysha Monastery (where he lived) - there is even a picture of it. Vysha is in the Tambov region (south of Moscow)
But this was circa 1995 and the monastery wasn't repaired yet, so he may have been moved back to the catholicon of Vysha monastery it it was renovated.
In Christ
Deacon John
