Matushka,

I have often asked many ecumenist priests and layman but have so far received no answer: There is no need for lengthy debates or long discussions about any of this.

Because surley those who are of the Church can show everyone Her example without hesitation and without reluctance. Therefore, show me these examples of the Holy Fathers where they instruct us to be in communion with heretics and I will join you tomorrow.

Until such time as this, “they have the churches, but we have the faith” (St. Athanasius), therefore, they "...kick against the goads."

Matushka Anna

Thank you for the words you've been posting over the last couple days. Certainly you've mentioned many things that I myself fall far short on, and I appreciate the nudge in the right direction. I thank you for letting God convict me through your words.

It bothers me that one bishop's observations in a meeting of his peers would be fodder for internet discussion.

I thought the quote was relevant to the comment that you had made about intercommunion with Churches, so I brought it up. I didn't name the bishop, nor the year, exactly because I didn't want it to be "fodder"--a "proof text" of sorts to beat one's adversaries over the head with in polemical debates. As it turns out, though, I misunderstood the way you were using a certain term, so it wasn't relevant after all. I apologize for bringing it up.

Dear Faithful in Christ,

Many wonder why Metr.Laurus will meet with Patriarch Alexey II so soon, in January. There is no reason for Metr.Laurus to meet Patr.Alexey II except what we learn from other sources as below in the MP publication "The Sentinel".

The faithful believed that bishops hearkened to the pleading voices of the concerned and union with MP will not take place. But not so, the bishops were already preparing for secret signings with MP.

Beware ye faithful of the goings on behind closed doors. One thing is told the faithful and another is done. We didn't want to believe it, but now we know and our trust is vanishing.

"The Sentinel" (MP publication) January 2004 - Vol 9, #1

DELEGATION (pg. 10)

... A visit of the President of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia Metroplitan Laurus to Moscow early in 2004 will become the most important landmark on the way to unity. It is expected that during the visit an agreement will be signed, by which the canonical, pastoral and church-practical foundations of the unity of the Russian Church

If this is true I have three words...

W-O-W.

I would never had guessed it would happen so soon.

It is a great "working of delusion".

Lounger,

I'm a bit confused... are you ROCA? (and if not, why does your location say that you are)?
