I am very saddened to hear this. I am also quite surprised to hear of ANY ROCA would tell you to become antiochan. How very, very sad.

I'm guessing your Antiochian parish is quite different from those I've visited in the past.

Welcome to the Orthodox faith!! We all rejoice with you! I was reading from a book on Elder Paisious and would pass on something he encourages us all to do. When you prayer. Pray only about repentance.
For when you pray and repent of your sins, then you become humble and acquire humility. In acquiring humility, you receive Grace from God. So if there are those who slander you in your decision, pray as the Elder suggests, acquire humility and Grace from God and you will be able to forgive those who slander you.

He said just become Orthodox. He wasnt worried about jursidcition.
He is a Orthodox Traditionalist not an Orthodox Fundamentalist as some people are on here. He said later if I wish to become ROCOR I can do so, but right now he just wants me to become an Orthodox Christian. I think he has me on the right path, a Hieromonk is not going to steer you wrong.
