I would like to ask if all Orthdox Churches require that a Priest's be vested with Kamalavki during his Funeral Service? I am asking because there was an incident where a Priest objected when He and other Priest's were Vesting the Deceased Priest. His reason was that it was not their Custom, and He wanted to put the Kamalavki next to the Priest's Head in his Casket. Can anyone Help?

Dear Epifanios,
I would like to ask if all Orthdox Churches require that a Priest's be vested with Kamalavki during his Funeral Service? I am asking because there was an incident where a Priest objected when He and other Priest's were Vesting the Deceased Priest. His reason was that it was not their Custom, and He wanted to put the Kamalavki next to the Priest's Head in his Casket. Can anyone Help?<
I know that Met. Philaret and Bishop Constantine were both burried with their mitres on and, because they were monstics and bishops, their faces covered with the aer that matched their vestments. I know that priests are burried vested. In case of controversy, I suppose the best thing to do would be to call the bishop and ask him where he wants the kamilavka. Whatever he says would be the right answer.
