My fiancee is fascinated by that "quaint" Filipino custom of actual crucifixions on Good Friday. Personally, I'm apalled by it. I think this is a great chapter (and section) for her to read.

As a member of the CAtholic Church, who grew up a Latin Catholic, I've never heard this before. Whatever it is, it is most decidedly not a part of Church teaching and most likely comes from the fringe. You yourself even said much of it springs from private revelation.

Anyways, I don't expect this to be debated here because it will distract from the book - but this is just something that I simply don't get.
