I just started to read the Theological Poems of St Gregory over the weekend. So far I like it, though it's a lil confusing at the same time :) I'm still reading about Prophet Isaiah in the Lives of the Prophets book too.

Credo is about the origins, development and functions of creeds in the "Christian" tradition. I think it is more helpful for those of us who have to deal with close family members telling us why we should be Protestants. It's always easier to move them closer to the Truth when you know their tradition better than they do!

I've decided to take a break on the Prophets book for awhile....I'm just reading a short story collection of mysteries (I like mystery type stories) and still reading the theological poems and now reading as well the Lives of the Orthodox pillars and Godly wisdom on conquering depression (the title is something like that...can't remember right now to be exact)

I just started Unseen Warfare too. I tried to read it last Lent but soon became busy with my own stupid affairs and put it down.
For the past year, in order to improve my Japanese, I have been laborously struggling through reading nothing but Japanese newspaper articles and short stories (not exactly spiritually fullfilling). Reading English, even of the difficulty and deapth of Unseen Warfare is, is such a pleasurable and relaxing thing. So far I really love it and find it very enlightening. Only it shows me how completly far I am from even biggining an actual spiritual Christian life. Perhaps I will bring up some questions that I get from it and we can disscuss them here.

I recently finished "Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church". I knew this book would be good, and I was not dissapointed. It is really kind of gentle, and simple, and so without fear (if you know what I mean.) Im sure I was unable to out of this book what is actually there. I cant remember anything specific from it, and I cant say it changed how I look at things or what I believe, but the experience of reading it was definately beneficial in a deeper sense than many things I have read. It was impossible to start a chapter without finishing it. I didnt read the chapters in order, which is a bad habit I have, but with this book it didnt seem to matter.

Now I am freading a book called "Theology and the Church" by a romanian theologion - Dumitru Staniloae. (if anyone can help with pronunciation, I would relly like to learn how to say this name).

I was looking for one of this writers books for some time now, since I read Vincent Rossis' recommendation of his work on amazon.com. Then I found this one at my friends house borrowed it, and proceeded to read the chapters in the wrong order :) So far I am enjoying this book and reading it alot, but Im not sure why I continue to read it. I think maybe it is a little to scholarly (although not scholatic), and sometimes I get a little bit lost in what is being said and I have to go back and start again. I think I need to concentrate more and apply my brain a bit more. I will talk more about it when Im finished. In the meantime, if anyone knows where I can get anything alse by this man, Dumitru Staniloae, on the internet, I would be grateful. I dont mean where I can buy books, I mean articles free to read on web-pages.

In other book news, they are making a film of "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe".

Check the news here - http://www.narnia.com/

Lewis lovers had better get reading so we can remind ourselves of the wonderful world that is Narnia, before the movie comes and changes it forever.
