I am not for ecumenism; don’t get me wrong. But, I feel like the secular world is declaring war on religion.

Take for example the EU’s refusal to grant special status on Mount Athos.

I don’t want to see Russian becoming Catholic (let’s admit it Russia isn’t exactly a Christian nation anymore). However, I feel like the Orthodox Churches and the Catholic Churches need to stand together and fight secularism and modernism. If the two churches do not unite on this one cause, then I fear our world will become even more hostile toward Christianity, even too the point where I can easily see Christianity in Europe and possible Russia (world) becoming ILLEGAL. Both Churches stand to gain by uniting on this issue and stand to loose a lot more if they don’t.

Just my 2 cents
