To be quite honest I don't follow ROAC news and have heard very little about the recent developments of ROAC oppression in Russia.

My joke was not to be taken in the context of bishops being killed. If I had known about this, the joke would obviously not have been made.

I do find it odd though that certain members of this list can basically call "world Orthodoxy" the demon whore of babylon, claim that 99% of the Orthodox world is graceless(and therefore has little chance of salvation), that all of my hierarchs are corrupt and un-Orthodox, etc. yet this is tolerated when a joke about the tiny size of the ROAC schism is trumped up to seem like I'm joking about murder. Easy kids.

I find it odd too. I agree with the points you made. Sometimes I think this forum veers to much to the deep end.

My soul is lonely dark and afraid.

Yes this forum is a traditionalist Orthodox message board, so the traditional Orthodox POV rightfully reigns supreme.

If someone is making jokes they should use smileys. Intent is hard to read on the Internet without these emoticons. We have a whole bunch of them to the left of the message box that you post in and all you have to do is click on them to make them appear in your postings. /\

It is one thing to demonstrate why the ROAC is supposedly schismatic, or why the ecumenist church is not Orthodox, which seems to always be done in an intelligent manner and not the name-calling you are alluding to.

I feel open ridicule for ridicules sake is something else entirely, even if it is packaged up as humor; and I don't say this because I am sensitive; you can say whatever you like about me and my synod - it can only work in my favor, but you can see it causes much personal grief to others.

I am sure as a fellow human being with your own sensitivities, you don't want to cause unnecessary grief to others.

so-anyway-how did a Nestorian AND a Qabbalist find themselves in the ROAC anyways? and-why would a Nestorian AND a Qabbalist be supporting each other? this stuff is better than zhidstvo-masonstvo conspiracy theories , , ,

I am hopeful that I am not sparking any debates here, but since this was posted and now bumped to the top, I felt some explaination was in order as Vladimir's church is now in our Synod.

As with just about everything it seems, there are always two sides to the story.

I am posting this to illustrate the point. If Vladimir Moss was excommunicated for supposedly espousing heresy, then I would have questions on why no action was taken on the issues pointed out by him. In addition, since it was his entire church which left the ROAC and not just him, it would lend further credence to a suspicion that the excommunication was a merely a tactic.

AFAIK, the first "open letter" is not on the internet, but I have a copy if anyone is in need.

more heretics . . .

after viewing the 2nd and 3rd "open letters," thanks, but, speaking of course only for myself, i have no need to view the first.

i keep hearing about the small numbers of ROAC. my question is-how many heretics do they, or did they have among their membership? nestorians, qabbalist, name worshippers . . . what is it that attracts thses types to ROAC? i find this all rather bizarre . . .
