Why do you write such things about stinking to Heaven? I really don't understand this quote.

Can you explain?

Pravoslavnik,

First, do you understand that what you said was very insulting? This was a metropolitan that Unified his Church when Communisim had separated it in two.

What do you and other's fear? You lable yourselves as "True" Orthodox and the rest of us as "World" Orthodox. I don't acknowledge those terms as they are meaningless.

I do not know this Metropolitan, but I see his works. He united his Church and his people. What right do you have to Judge? Will you now site the Canons? The Ecumenical Councils? The Pan-Orthodox Assempby of 1923? How many more boggiemen will you and others create?

You and others like you live in a world of fead and dispare. Is that the Gospel of Christ? Ask yourself what is in your heart, Love or Hate?

I have seen posts riddled with non-sense and, worst of all, hatred, especially Jews. You believe conspiracies, rumors and conjecture, more than the very simple teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I will admit I get tried of this, but I would rather be hear speaking up for Christ and his Holy Church then leave fustrated and allow the young and impressionable to be taught something without ever knowing these is another side to the story.

In July I am going to Washington D.C. for the Greek Orthodox Church of America's Clergy-Laity Conferrence. People from the Orthodox Christian Laity group will be there trying, as usual, to separate us from the Ecumenical Patriarch, which the OCL also hates with a passion.

Although, I do not agree with everything the Ecumenical Patriarch has done, especially with the ousting of Archbishop Spyridon and the expansion of the Holy Synod outside the boarders of Turkey which will be seen as a treat by the Turkish Government, I stay humble and obediant, but always making my objections known and working within the system, in accordance with Canon Law, to make a positive change for OUR CHURCH (Greek, Russian, Serbian, Albanian, Arab, Etc.).

Can the "True" Orthodox sya the same, or do you just want to stil alone in the desert completely separated from Christ and His Church? The Choice is yours.

With Much Love and a Whole-lot of understanding
God Bless us all

Stinking to High Heaven

Post by Pravoslavnik »

Metropolitan Laurus Skurla betrayed the major remnant of the Russian Orthodox Church into the hands of the KGB and the neo-Soviet state. He organized the ouster of Metropolitan Vitaly (Ustinov) and attempted to physically kidnap the aged Metropolitan twice, even during a vigil at a monastery in Quebec. This was all documented on film. He then attempted to have the Metropolitan brought under KGB guardianship in a case in which the New York Supreme Court ultimately ruled in favor of Metropolitan Vitaly's release. There is credible evidence that Skurla had been working for the KGB since at least the 1970's, and his brother was certainly a high-ranking communist government official in Czechoslovakia.

Code: Select all

On a more personal note, I can tell you that Metropolitan Laurus drove dozens of dedicated, sincere, Orthodox Christians from our parish. He also oversaw the attempted confiscation of other parishes and even monasteries (such as that of the aged Russian nuns of Our Lady of Vladimir--with a legal injunction which he issued to the nuns during Holy Week!) He also showed contempt for the incorrupt relics of St. Philaret (Vosnesensky) by refusing to let people venerate the saint of God, and even saying, "Let him rot like the rest of them!"

It is not for me, however, to judge this Metropolitan, for vengeance is the Lord's. My reference to Lenin's tomb was related to the press release from Russia about dedicating a cathedral to Laurus Skurla as a (secular) "Russian hero." As if service to a secular state constitutes sanctity! Yes, he served the neo-Soviet state well, like Lenin, but did he feed the lambs of Christ God which were his charge? Put him in Lenin's Tomb if he is a hero of the Russian Revolution, but not in a holy Church!

Ekaterina is a known MP apologist, but what of the rest of you? Will no one here bear witness to the truth regarding the betrayal of the Church by Metropolitan Laurus Skurla?

I see so much that I recognize in your post. The Greeks and the Russians are truly the same on this issue. I've only read a little of Metropolitan Vitaly, but there are many "True" Orthodox that labled him a heretic. So who is to say?

The real criminals are the communists for causing the division in the first place. Time and history then did the rest of the division.

I bid you peace.

God Bless

Peter

Unification that is not based on truth is not something to be happy about as it is from the evil one.

You must realize the EP is not Orthodox, as his actions contradict the holy canons, traditions of the Orthodox church and the Saints of the Orthodox church. How can you be Orthodox when you condtradict Orthodoxy.
