Hi James,
We are all sinners, but rest assured I will pray for your journey.

I am a recent convert and it took many years to find God's true church. Keep seeking, praying and He will help you. The books that have been recommended will be helpful. May I also suggest that you talk to a priest, I was fortunate to find a fine man of God on my first attempt.

You will be in my prayers.

Hello James--

I like the book "The Way of the Pilgrim" very much, too. I would also suggest that you get a little icon, a candle or two, a prayer book or use the Psalms, and do plenty of private prayer. It takes a while to grow into the discipline of prayer but it is essential for Orthodox life.

While praying, It is important to focus your mind on the words of prayer, not to let yourself wander. Remember you are conversing with the Almighty.

Hopefully, you can find a good church that will help you further.
