Gregory is not a bishop. He has repeatedly and voluntarily submitted himself to several bishops over the years, yet refuses to recognize their authority over him. I promise you, if history is any guide, he will not recognize the "ROAC Holy Synod" as having canonical authority to discipline him. I would personally argue he is not even an Orthodox Christian, but a mentally-ill pseudo-Christian who does nothing but bring harm to true believers and the Church itself.... And none of this is changed by how "nice" or "pious" he may seem.

It is saddening to see this whole sorry spectacle - and that is what is has become - unravel. As there is to be a Church hearing would it not be better to await the outcome rather than so many reaching their own verdict in advance?

This affair is deeply unedifying and somewhere only the Devil can be pleased. Perhaps the only thing left is to wait and to pray for all those involved, for they like us will be required to give an answer at that Dread Day of Judgement.

So, tell me. Why didn't you all see Gregory's PAST before? It was OBVIOULSY there for everyone ELSE to see.

Some people knew the stories, but they did not believe them. Perhaps they were correct in disbelieving, perhaps incorrect. But I do not think it does any good second-guessing past decisions now. Especially when we are second-guessing the decisions of others (ie. judging them) ;)

Have you ever heard of "learning from one's mistakes" How else do you think you learn? How can you be SURE that you will not repeat the same mistake again unless you evaluate WHY you made a prior bad decision?

You are wrong -- I am attempting to teach the basics of good decision making.

Would you jump head first into a pool of water without first finding out how deep it is?

Tom,

Would you jump head first into a pool of water without first finding out how deep it is?

It depends on how hot it is outside!

But Tom, we are not dealing with a situation of learning from one's own mistakes in these last few posts (I agree with you on that point). We are dealing with a situation of Tom trying to point out to others what mistakes they have made, and then giving them unsolicited advice as to how to rectify the perceived error. :)

1) Oh wow! "The perceived error"?

2) Did you really mean to write "the perceived error".

3) Okay. Let me get this straight; you see it as a "the perceived error" on my part.

4) Let's contemplate those words:

"the perceived error".

5) Please don't misuderstand my intentions. Let me make it perfectly clear that I am giving you UNSOLICITED advice relating to your

"perceived error".
