well, that's what you continue to say anyway.

TomS,
The necessity of woman to wear a head covering is Divine revelation - ie. Holy Tradition. It is a sign of humility and a submission to the Will of God.
St. Basil says: "Of the dogmas and proclamations preserved in the Church, some we possess from written teaching, while others we have received in secret from the Tradition of the Apostles; these both have the same validity for true religion. And no one will gainsay these points, at least if he is even moderately versed in ecclesiastical institutions" (Concerning the Holy Spirit).
The Divinely inspired Chrysostom says: "They (namely the Apostles) have not handed down everything in writing, but have also delivered many things in unwritten form. The former and the latter are equally trustworthy, and so we also consider the [unwritten] Tradition of the Church to be trustworthy. It is Tradition—seek no further" (On 2 Thessalonians, Homily 4).
Many passages of the Fathers inform us of the content of the unwritten Apostolic Tradition.
Great ignorance and confusion exists today, especially among those who not only feel it is their right, but their duty to question everything, as to what tradition is. The result of this spiritual ignorance is an arrogant disregard for Tradition on the part of many people, and the projection of mistaken (sometimes intentional) and dangerous views. This is not directed at you Tom, there are many people in every land, in my synod, myself included, who lack the respect and reverence for what has been given.
Holy Tradition is Divine revelation and consequently a sure, indispensable, and sacred prescription and guide to our life. If one had the spiritual eyes to see, they would no more want to change the smallest detail of Holy Tradition than they would want to change the formula of the only cure to a worldwide disease.
What distinguishes Orthodoxy, that is, True Christianity from the various and countless systems which are the product of the human intellect is that we have remained true to Holy Tradition. All other faiths, papism, the various forms of Protestantism, new-calendarism, are all carried far away from Orthodoxy in that they are slaves to the ideas of men. And the ideas of men always destroy the savor of the salt.
The Orthodox always regarded the unchanging persistence of the Orthodox Church as a boast. On the contrary, the heterodox, especially in recent times—regard this persistence as a sign of decline, as a sign of deficiency in her inner life. Since worldly perfection comes through change, they, infected with the worldly spirit, attribute the same measures to the Church. And since today, I suppose we are all infected with the worldly spirit, we should be extra careful not to judge 2000 years of life, faith, and practice.

Naaah! It's cultural. More like submission to the will of MEN!

Is OUTRAGE!
