Why would he appear on TV at all though ?

I read HIS book then ? He's obviously on a different wavelength, so I would be getting some negative
programming from his words.

Maria, what on earth is "diversity training" ?
It sounds ominous.
I am glad you were honest that your faith suffered from the Protestant forum.
That will help wake up others to not even attempt to participate.

Any of the popular TV shows brainwash people by "Diversity Training" aka "Sensitivity Training."

This kind of brainwashing is mandated in almost all work places. It is an "I'm Okay, You're Okay" type of socialization where one is expected to tolerate all kinds of deviant behavior as normal. When I was a child, I did not know what a homosexual was. As a college student, I had to search for that term in the dictionary. In the early 1960s, the song, "Walking in the Rain" was still popular, people enjoyed Lawrence Welk with his bubble machine and the champagne music, and the word that is often used as a synonym for "homosexual" meant joyful and happy, not a person with disorderly passions. In less than ten years, the meaning for that particular word (which is censored here), went from joyful and happy (its #1 meaning) to the #3 meaning. Yes, societal forces do cause linguistic changes.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

When I was a child, I did not know what a homosexual was.

When my son was twelve years old I had a talk with him about homosexuality because of a controversy surrounding the use of the word 'g-y' by schoolkids. He knew what I was talking about, but had to ask what heterosexual meant.

Thanks Nadir, for the info on t.v.

^ Arcmode's article looks REALLY good from the title !
I will return to look at the link.

Maria, why is that word censored ? In the sense that it shouldn't be used, anyway ?
Or to avoid the - I bet soon to be - internet scourers to force everyone to acknowledge them as o.k. ?
There are Israeli and pro-Israelis who regularly change wikipedia accounts of events or personalities.
So I bet there is a Homosexual Evil Army ready to do the same.
If it isn't doing this already.

I agree ! I never heard of the existence of these til the end of senior year of college.
The last trimester, some irregular kid picked ME to confide in about his condition.
He was a misfit anyway. I thought I should be kind to hear about his problem.
But I had no idea what he was even talking about.

NOW I know it was the Devil who made him pick me so as to ruin my purity of thought for the day or month.
Wisdom comes with age and study of devil tactics.

THAT should be taught in Orthodox classes. An entire year could be devoted to studying manifestations
of the devil and how to avoid them or read Saints lives to understand better how to repel them.
Of course, TV would be central to the study of how the devil undermines a society like this one.

For some people, the following document might sounds a little unreal but I leave it to you to decide.

Is Your TV Spying on YOU?

It sounds like science fiction but many new TVs can watch you - telling advertisers your favourite shows or even filming you on the sofa. And there's no off switch!

You are sitting in bed in your pyjamas, drinking a cup of cocoa. A loved one lies next to you, watching late-night television. Pillow talk is exchanged. An alarm clock is set. Eventually the lights are turned out.

Earlier, you sat on the living-room sofa eating supper, before loading the dishwasher and heading upstairs.

You have, in other words, just enjoyed a perfectly normal night, in a perfectly normal home. The curtains are drawn, the central heating turned up. It’s cosy, relaxing and, above all, completely private. Or so you thought.

The truth turns out to be quite the opposite. For on the other side of the world, people you didn’t know existed are keeping a beady eye on your every move.

So Jesus was saying to those Ιουδαιους [Judeans] who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
John 8:31-32

This is not surprising.

Most True Orthodox jurisdictions as well as many priests in World Orthodoxy do not recommend TV viewing. In addition, they recommend that families who do watch TV during the year, abstain from it during the four periods of Lent in Orthodoxy: Great Lent (in preparation for Pascha), the Apostles Fast (which precedes June 29), the Fast of the Theotokos (14 days before the Holy Dormition of the Theotokos), and the Nativity Fast (Nov. 15 (O.S.) through and including Dec. 24 (O.S.).

My son's mother-in-law has a huge interactive smart TV with a touch screen. The flat screen is at least 6 feet wide by 5 feet deep. And yes, its ads are geared toward the family's preferences. It is creepy. I will not have one in my house.

Maria,

That was very wise of you.
