It seems the mad "Western Rite" project failed again inside (former) ROCOR structure... Interesting

I did an E Cafe search, (see advanced search box at the upper right side).

I found this website, but I think some pictures of Bishop Jerome have been removed.

Clerymen there look not so far from the traditional vagantes... God have mercy!

New encyclical issued by Met. Hilarion of the ROCOR-MP.

He has placed himself in charge of the Western Rite.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Thank you, Maria, I had just been wondering whether that was out yet.
The Western Rite community was awaiting it to see whether their fears of dissolution were justified.
The alarmists were wrong ; it was conciliatory yet firm in making clear that Bp Jerome was forevermore
persona non grata after whatever he did that exceeded his responsibilities and was the catalyst for - probably - Rocor-MP
to become a laughingstock in some quarters.

Plus, he must have been downright rude to his brother bishops and other clergy, or that part would not have
been mentioned pointedly in the first Epistle.

Back to this release, it was good that the central fact of Bp Jerome's removal was not glossed over, but politely emphasized.
Also reiterated was the removal of his assistant, a Fr Bondi. I had never heard of that hieromonk previous to the Epistle the other day.
But he must have been a partner to the problematic deeds of Bishop Jerome [Ret.] - as they write in the military.

Though Maria already posted that link to website, Allmercifulsavior.com,
in case anyone wishes to review any background from a True Orthodox viewpoint regarding the retired Vicar of Eastern-American Diocese
of Rocor-MP, [for some reason] I found it right away today, when NOT looking !

Here is the internal link:

http://www.euphrosynoscafe.com/forum/vi ... 3&start=14

Jonathan, I of course can not forget about the whole process of that scandalous union to Moscow's Stalin-era MP ;
but one can hope that wiser minds will prevail and take Rocor-MP out of that and back to its simple Rocor status !

[Just think of the confusion with all the recently generated names of TOC's as mentioned in
Maria's thread in True Orthodox Churches if that were to happen!]

Let us take hope from one angle.
This Bishop Jerome was at that era, Fr John Shaw, quite a talker on the interent in favor of the union.

It was said that he was selected for promotion to the episcopate as a payment for his
slavish promotion of the MP amid a mostly sleepy flock which was ill-equipped to counter his flashy arguments.
How true that is, I have no idea.

At least with him out of the way, maybe stronger anti-MP minds can prevail.
Perhaps those could move better now ; perhaps former Vicar Bp Jerome was blocking any attempt to
re-examine the merits of staying with Moscow's MP.

Without a heavyweight like him at Synod headquarters, Rocor - MP could consider the idea of easing out of the unwelcome clutches of Pat Kirill
in a gradual manner.

After all, MP is not doing anything for them ! Seemingly, Pat Kirill won't pay a penny for anything for the new acquisition.
No upkeep, no food, no housing. One might guess from reading the news that
maybe only it would pick up the tab for the legal bills to commandeer properties where the MP will benefit directly.

Instead, MP staff seem to demand that Rocor-MP missions/ parishes hand over money to THEM, as though
the MP needs handouts from struggling parishes !!
It's outrageous.

Who would put up with that ?

Surely this cracking the whip over a not very affluent jurisdiction must be reviled privately by any of the Rocor-MP
flock which has any awareness of these dynamics ?

Time to withdraw from that 2007 disaster, before worse comes to pass !
