Now any person can see that it is basically a cut and paste picture, the part of vladyka Metropolitan Lavra is clearer and has more color, PatriArch alexi II in picture is more older and less colorful or clear...this one wouldnt even stand up in our courts, shame on who ever put this together and meant to cause Schism and concern..........

Yes after the fake memo against Georges Bush, we have the fake photos by a so-called subdeacon...

With do respect, Ioannis, I don't think CGW was trying to teach anything. He was just reiterating what the good Brother said. The hymn " A Mighty Fortress" is a Protestant hymn. The good Brother tried to put an Orthodox spin on it and failed miserably. CGW as a Protestant was just pointing that out.

My statement referred to his recent activity in general, but point taken. ;)

A Mighty Fortress...........

Post by DavidHawthorne »

Yes, the hymn is Protestant and by the "Father of Protestantism" who was inspired by the Scriptures he took with him when he left the Roman Catholic Church who themselves preserved it as part of their patrimony from when they were also Orthodox..........could we call it a third-generation Orthodox hymn in an unidentified Tone?

I have to agree with Southern Orthodox in this case. CGW did not deserve a reprimand, rather the reprimand should have gone to Bro Nathaniel.

CGW has been a member of this forum since November of 2003 and has more than 287 posts to his name. I have never found his posts to be trolling in nature. His posts are informative, reasoned and at times even helpful, unlike the trash posted by Brother Nathaniel. He has never attempted to sway any Orthodox person. My own thought is that he has a deep and abiding interest in Orthodoxy.

As a person who is in the "upper circles" circles of Orthodoxy you should know that many come to Orthodoxy by diverse and at times lengthy roads. An attack against an innocent poster such as yours did not and does not serve Orthodoxy at all.

Disappointing......

Oh Katya, you only agree with me in just this case. No I am kidding. Lets see if we take them side by side. Nathanieldoxy or Anglicanism. Lets see neither one teaches Orthodoxy. Wow the good Brother looses again, that must get really old losing all the time and to an Anglican on an Orthodox site, geez almost starting to feel sorry for him. Almost time for another cut and paste session.

My apologies to the rest. That is not showing Orthodoxy myself.

Not "cut and paste"

Post by Nathaniel Kapner »

This is an e mail just sent to me by Walt at High Valley Studios
a professional photographer and my Web Master. (He is managing
my live journal @
http://www.livejournal.com/users/sbn_nathanael/
and is presently building my soon to be revealed Web Site -
"Nathanael Speaks! And everybody listens." :

"I see no evidence that the photo in question is a cut-and-paste
job. First of all, it's extremely difficult to cut and paste two
images without leaving some hard edges where the two images
meet. If you look at the edge of the figure facing the camera, his
hair and beard blend perfectly into the background. If this were a
cut and paste, you would see digital artifacts of a hard edge all
along there.

Also, the lighting is perfectly uniform between the foreground
figures and the guy in the background wearing the hat. Uniform
lighting is the hardest of all to achieve in a cut-and-paste effort,
and it is the thing that can tip off a viewer the quickest, even if it
is on a subconscious, intuitive level. All the figures here are lit from
the same light source, from the same angle. Now, the two
figures embracing in the foreground do look strange, but likely
because one is much shorter than the other and his head is
completely covered.

But, technically, there is no visible evidence that this photo has
been tampered with."
