I was not offended by Tom's suggestion that the Antichrist could be a corporate evil rather than an individual; however, I do not believe that is the case.

St. Paul refers to the Antichrist as "the man of sin . . . the son of perdition" (2 Thess. 2:3), and every Church Father I have read or seen quoted agrees that this refers to an individual man.

Several were more specific and said the Antichrist will be a Jew of the tribe of Dan.

I think this is likely, not only because the Fathers interpreted the Scriptures that way, but also because it just makes sense.

The Antichrist will be regarded by the Jews as their political "Messiah" come at last. They would not believe a Gentile could be their Messiah.

Remember, too, the Jews do not believe the Messiah will be the Son of God in the literal, Trinitarian sense. They believe he will be a descendant of David, but merely a man nonetheless.

BTW, I am not trying to be anti-Semitic and neither were the Church Fathers.

They taught (and I believe them) that most of the Jews will be converted to Christ before the Last Day.

Speaking about being proclaimed the Messiah of the people? Would that be along the same line that Sung Yun Moon proclaiming himself the Messiah of the world and was crowned in Washington? (I believe it was in Washington). There were senators who participated. It was on the web and I also saw it discussed on The Daily Show. The Show even showed a quote from Moon stating that.

Or is Moon just another along the same line of the plethora of self-proclaimers?

The Fathers are pretty clear that the Antichrist will be proclaimed by the Jews as their Messiah and will actually enter earthly Jerusalem in triumph.

There is a book called "A Ray Of Light" written by Archamadrite Pantalemon bach in 1946 it has been updated 50 years later in 1996, he has compiled ALL the major Fathers of The Church writtings/sayings about The Antichrist go to a Russian Church Abroud and buy it and read it, I've read it the Fathers who wrote spoke about him are 1. St.John Chrysostom, 2.St.Gregory The Great, 3.St.John Damascus, 4.St.Andrew Fool for Christ, 5.St.Ephraim The Syrian is the most in detail about him he describes what he'll do in such detail that you'll be very scared, he says that "those who are'nt Baptized in to the Orthodox Faith and cleansing thier "nouse" will not be able to withstand his deamonic temptations and they will automaticaly worship him as God AND immediatly reacive his mark, St.Romano The Melodist describes his comming to power in very detailed manner, he (The Antichrist) (according to the above metioned Fathers) will be a Jew from the tribe of Dan his mother will be the absolute complete OPPOSITE of Panayia, she will be a wanton Whore who is the most evil woman to ever live and because of her unsupassed evilness Satan will be "naturally" atrracted to her, and her offspring will be a human boy who will be even more evil than her, and Satan will posses him at the age of 12, when him and his accursed mother will be walking in a garden in Isreal the boy will immediatly love Satan and will be his survant all the way till the Second comming of Christ. 2. I went back and looked at my post and I can see where I was not as clear as I could have been. I am not saying that the Anti-Christ will BE a corporation/organization. What I meant to convey is that he would be the HEAD of the corporation/organization.

I know you have heard this before -- that he would come out the UN or the WCC -- some Worldwide organization.

My god-father told me that prophesy too. Exactly. Especially, the anti-christ walking in the garden at the age of 12.

Is this really literal?? Because that means that most of my family are lost. I've always wondered if I wasn't too strict thinking that those outside of Orthodoxy are not with God. That means they don't go to His Kingdom, despite the fact that they, at least, believe in Jesus Christ.
