I have been told now by a few sources that everything is being purposefully ignored, and the decision is: no decision is better than any decision.

Besides, the EP has its hands full now trying to evict the Church of Greece out of Thrace.

My friend slept in the cell with the window right next to the flag; that was several years ago now; then they had it draped from the wall toward the sea - they still may.

The monks own a speed boat to run the blockade set up by the Greek government, which is a Navy destroyer parked just off the coast. I don't know if its there any more.

Ironically, there are a pair of "Old Calendarists" in the Greek Air Force who buzz the monastery every so often to show their support (a weird way to show support). They were suspected of flying a private plane to drop supplies into the monastery a few years ago during the height of the most recent blockade.
