Pre-concilar Documents of the Great Ecumenist Council of 2016

As posted on January 27, 2016
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill: I expect the Council to bring about even more consolidation of the Orthodox world

... “Our Church insisted on no embargo on these documents because all people should be familiar with them since many critical views on the upcoming Council were formed due to the information vacuum,’ His Holiness underscored. The main thing is that all people will know which issues will be resolved at the Council and in what manner, and which documents will constitute the background of the Council’s resolutions.” ...

“Neither Ukraine will not be considered at the Council, nor the possibility of granting autocephaly or legalization of the schism will be discussed at the Council. Patriarch Bartholomew publicly confirmed it. He said unequivocally that no efforts for legalizing the schism or for granting autocephaly to anyone unilaterally will be taken during the Council or after it. All those who have provoked this unrest in Ukraine should understand it. The Orthodox world will not support this unrest, this schism. There is only one way to overcome the schism. It lies through negotiations and the achievement of results on the basis of the holy canons. Those who wish to be in communion with world Orthodoxy should reunite with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the basis of the existing canons. There is no other way and no other message to Ukraine from the Patriarchs.”

His Holiness specified that the Pan-Orthodox Council will be take place on the island of Crete which was the venue of many international theological conferences.

“This summit of the Orthodox Primates took place not without difficulties, but such a dialogue is never easy. Yet we know that by the grace of God we always reach unanimous decisions. This has happened here, too. I expect that the Council will bring about even more consolidation of the Orthodox world, because we must cooperate even more closely in the resolution of problems which we are facing in the world, including the persecution against Christian communities. I do hope that by God’s grace the consolidation of the Orthodox world will succeed,” His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia said in conclusion.

Here is what the World Orthodox's boss, the WCC, on their official website news service says about the preparatory meeting in Switzerland for the 2016 Pseudodox pow-wow.

So, officialy theese are "unanimous" decisions...not accepted by Patriarch of Antioch!

The question of Calendar, and the pending request already almost a century old, has not been included in the agenda.

Please be advised that I am still in communion with World Orthodoxy, although I've been in resistance to my bishop for some years.

Apparently, the Church of Antioch sent representatives according to the WCC per the link posted by Matthew:

http://www.oikoumene.org/en/press-centr ... e-in-crete

Patriarch John X of Antioch and Metropolitan Sawa of Poland were unable to attend due to health reasons, and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece was absent for personal reasons. All three were represented by officially authorized delegates.

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.

Yes, they are really interested in being part of the WCC ecumenist Christian federation's goal of setting up a "parliament of religions" United Nations agency that will, in the future, seek to unite all religions and faiths into one agreed rule of inter-religious dialogue and cooperation, and of course, mutual recognition banning all proselytism.

The text, which follows the introduction in italics, is a translation of the Greek by Dr. Dimitrios Tselengidis.

Regarding the recently published conciliar document entitled, "Relations of the Orthodox Church with the Rest of the Christian World, " Dr. Dimitrios states in translation:

With all that is written and what is clearly implied in the text above, it is clear that its initiators and authors are attempting the institutional and official ratification of Christian Syncretistism-Ecumenism by means of a Pan-Orthodox Synod. This, however, would be catastrophic for the Orthodox Church. For this reason I humbly propose the text’s total withdrawal.

Next, Dr. Dimitrios critiques the conciliar document on “The Sacrament of Marriage and its Impediments." Article 5.i notes: “The marriage of an Orthodox person with a heterodox person is not permitted according to canonical akrivia [the ‘rule’] (canon 72 of the Quinisext Council in Trullo). However, it is possible to be blessed through condescension and love for man under the express condition that the children of this marriage will be baptized and raised in the Orthodox Church.”

In response, Dr. Dimitrios summarizes, "For the sake of theological consistency, article 5.i, needs to be removed."

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
