Yes Ian, I do believe your right about Pravoslavnik. Certainly seems to think he's got everyone pegged.
Reason I did the "comparison" post was to see if anyone could separate the truth from fiction. Since part is true and part is fiction. Pravoslavnik obviously can't see the difference. As we say in cajun french, da gross' la font.

Pravoslavnik, "ante-Bellum South", now I know your really confused. If I were Acadian or Creole French I'd surely be offended. Also, Louisiana cajuns don't need no cowards like the KKK to take care of bizness here. Dem gators work just fine when ya need dem.

We are usually pretty friendly folks as long as you respect the land. Dem Vietnamese folks didn't, took da marsh hens eggs then ate the marsh hens. Had to call the Rugaru out and put the voodoo on em.

That was the accomplishment of the Republican Congress from 1994 on, Newt Gringrich and company, not Clinton.

No Congress or President can forecast the people's spending trends. Which is why government comes up with budgets according to predicted trends. And tries tactics to get us to spend more.
The main reason federal tax revenue increased was the windfall of capital gains taxes from stock profits during the Internet Bubble. Has nothing to do with Clinton's budget.

Wake up! It's later than you think!

Democrats and Republicans are all mishpocheh. All part of the same Kosher Nostra. Bickering over which two crime syndicates should hold power is like taking sides between the Crips (blue: Democrats) and the Bloods (red: Republicans), or the Gambinos and the Genovese families....pointless. Supporting either party is supporting the mob.

"They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Yeah, I agree. Just as the Old Testament tells of when Israel told Samuel they wanted a king. Even after Samuel told them what would happen with a king. (KJV 1 Samuel 8:10-18, Sept. 1 Kingdoms 8:10-18) He also told them by choosing a king to rule them they rejected God. :ohvey:

Well, frankly, I agree with Cyprian on this one. When it comes to Republicans and Democrats, it is almost always a question of which is the lesser of two evils.

Code: Select all

Cyprian, recall that I merely posted some historical facts on this thread in response to the absurd, highly partisan Republican commentaries.

As a general rule, I have refrained from commenting on secular political issues here at the St. Euphrosynos Cafe.

I have no desire to defile this Orthodox region of the blogosphere with things that are Caesar's. Perhaps our Republican partisans should do the same.

The lesser of two evils... is still evil.

I don't see how any right-thinking Orthodox Christian could support either of the two parties in good conscience. I don't see promotion of the Democrats or their agenda as a viable counter to Republican partisanship. That's what CNN and Fox News are for. To herd the masses toward supporting one of the two competing crime syndicates. Choosing between the Democrats and the Republicans is like choosing between the Sadducees and the Pharisees--no viable choice at all.

Cyprian, it's not a matter of supporting evil, it is a matter of making sure evil doesn't overcome that which is good. Political parties, evil or not, cannot over ride our Constitution. The Constitution actually gives the people the ability to abolish any evil government.
