Jonathan, you must not be too surprised. The issue of the so-called "Jewish Question" will never die. All it did for the latter half of the 20th Century was go underground. However, that is rapidly changing with the focus these days on the idea of the rise of Zionist power. Many perceive a zionist threat guiding the hand of government, media, and banking. I think that the main question for Orthodox Christians is not the "Jewish Question" but rather the question of what is the Orthodox response to the rise of anti-semitism as well as all the various political and ideological "isms" that treaten the Faith with their humanistic and materialistic focus and values and goals. What is really at work here, isn't it a force that unites and animates all these separate movements, a dark and devilish one? The antichrist and devil seek to steal kill and destroy. The only true enemy out there is not really of one race or of one faction or anther. It is the father of lies who leads the whole world into destruction, hatred, war, and the rest. However, We seek a Kingdom unseen and yet to be revealed, a bright, heavenly one, which is open to all mankind regardless of race or any other earthly categories. All who seek our Saviour and are drawn by God into the True Orthodox Church are welcomed as beloved brothers and sisters. We need to be ambassadors to people like that lady that thought Joanna was a Jewess. We need to get their eyes off of these petty ideas, and help them see their real need for the Son of God, the holy Theotokos, and the Holy Mysteries of the Church, and the Gospel of Peace. I hope that we can accomplish that. The light is diminishing and the shadows cast upon the land are growing long, and who knows how long it will be until the land ceases to yield the fruits of repentance that delays Our Lord's blessed return...
