I am concerned about the things you have heard about Astoria. As you know we have a church, in Montreal, under Bp. Pavlos. I have not heard anything that would question his position on faith matters. Rumors, are always a nasty thing.

Perhaps my god-father will have more information about the facts. I'll ask him.

And I'll ask Bp Stefan about the Kyprianites. I wouldn't say that Vl. Tikhon hasn't been forthright. He was pretty clear on his stance when he visited us last year. These decisions aren't made on a whim and I'm sure they will address it in the October Sobor.

And Incognito is an expert on love and humility. He will tell us all, that we don't have it, but he does. And that's why he's suffering so much, by our fingertips.

He even presumes to know how I confess.

But, he can apologize, on one post, and then start ranting on the very next, with insults, judgements and presumptions.

But, to him, I'm the wicked one. We are all sinners. We all get offensive and frustrated with posts. But, there's always those special ones, that come along and don't only judge, but accuse others of judging. And accuse all of Orthodox mankind of lack of love and humility. And these special ones, take it to the extreme.

Joasia, you have no love or humility. When have you ever apologized? You justify yourself in everything. And you lied by saying I claimed to have never heard of Father Seraphim Rose. I asked for the post, and you have failed to produce.

For the record, Br. Jose was kept in a very poor state of refrigeration, if any at all, when his body was transported from Greece to the U.S. fourteen days later, yet his body was completely incorrupt at his funeral, when it should have shown signs of decomposition.

I don't know. The refrigeration might have helped the preservation process.

When Hieromonk Averky (memory eternal) and Reader Dan Olsen did a pannikhida for Br. Jose at his grave, the frigid winds were so active that it was impossible for them to keep candles lit, but then in the midst of it all, the extinguished candles that they placed on Br. Jose's grave miraculously lit on their own.

I don't know about that. Sometimes candles can appear to be blown out, but in reality are not. And people tend to read-into things like this what they hope, or want to see.

When Br. Jose visited the ROCOR parish in House Springs, MO. in the late 80's, a Serbian layman who lived as a worker at the monastic Hermitage there said that not only did the icon of the Theotokos gush myrrh, but so did Br. Jose. This man told me that Br. Jose had myrrh running off his feet and filling his shoes when he took them off.

That could be from the icon, not Jose.

Br. Jose had a nine hour prayer rule which he recited daily and he was a secret monk.

A secret monk? Isn't that prelest? See, I can't pray that long because they would tell me I am in delusion if I did. Did he have anyone he was accountable to spiritually? Did he have a blessing to do this?

It was not til after his death that it was discovered that he was tonsured to the Great Schema on Mt. Athos.

That sheds some light. But it could be a rumor. Orthodox people will lie and replace facts with rumors if they think it is in their best interest.

What arrogance. Orthodox women do not talk to men like that. Only in 20th-21st century America would we see something like that.
