A web site with the word "Orthodox" in its name recently changed the title of its Non-Chalcedonian forum, replacing the term Non-Chalcedonian with the deceptive term "Oriental Orthodox."

I object to the name "Oriental Orthodox" for Non-Chalcedonians.

It seems sinful to me for Orthodox Christians to refer to Monophysites as "Orthodox."

How can one reject any of the holy Ecumenical Councils of the Church and be Orthodox?

When one endorses a heresy and bestows upon it the otherwise honorable title "Orthodox," doesn't he become a principal in its errors and heir to the anathemas of the Fathers?

Yes, I believe so.

I wonder which churches "officially" refer to NC's as Orthodox?

I hope none of them, but it would not surprise me if some do.

The churches of Alexandria and Antioch both do and have somewhat on a communion with them.

Communion with heresy and calling heresy "Orthodox", is heresy itself, is it not?

Yes, it is.

I seem to remember reading some words of the Fathers to that effect.

Can anyone supply a couple of quotes on that subject?

Here is an appropriate quote from St. Maximus the Confessor (as quoted by Patrick Barnes in his book, The Non-Orthodox, p. 88 ) :

"I write these things not wishing to cause distress to the heretics or to rejoice in their ill-treatment - God forbid; but, rather, rejoicing and being gladdened at their return. For what is more pleasing to the Faithful than to see the scattered children of God gathered again as one? Neither do I exhort you to place harshness above the love of men. May I not be so mad! I beseech you to do and carry out good to all men with care and assiduity, becoming all things to all men, as the need of each is shown to you; I want and pray you to be wholly harsh and implacable with the heretics only in regard to cooperating with them or in any way whatever supporting their deranged belief. For I reckon it misanthropy and a departure from Divine love to lend support to error, that those previously seized by it might be even more greatly corrupted."

The bolding is mine for emphasis. The italics occur in Barnes' quote.

I was wondering Orthodox Christians when Xrictoc said (this is not the exact words he said) "I will allow the weeds to grow with the Weat" what was he meaning I was told he was meaning I will alow the heretics to multiply on earth before I return, is this somewhat true? :?
