MEPs Approve Resolution Seeking to Allow Women on Mt Athos

Tradition holds that the Most Holy Theotokos appeared on the Holy Mountain (Mt Athos) and declared it for herself -- THIS is the reason that no woman is allowed on it!

I recommend that Ms. Karamanou take this issue up with the Theotokos Herself, rather than with Greece, the EU, or even the monastics on Mt Athos.

I'm thinking of sending her an e-mail to this effect. Does anyone think I should, or should not?

I just sent off my email to the MEP Karamanou. I don't know if it do much of anything, and that's assuming she even reads it.

The man with the long white beard dressed like an Orthodox bishop is the "EP" Bartholomew. I haven't the foggiest idea who the other one is.

Simply because she's photographed with His All Holiness doesn't mean that he likes her. He actually seems quite uneasy in all the photos.
