Israeli Army Shell a picnic, kill Seven!!

The resting place of threads that were very valid in 2004, but not so much in 2024. Basically this is a giant historical archive.

Sir, not once but twice have I invited you to explain your views and you fail to answer but persist in making assertions, and even appear to take to yourself judgment contrary to the teaching of Our Lord, the holy fathers and the Church. And therefore in prudence and not judgement I walk away from you in order not to be drawn into that that appears unseemingly.

Ebor, your insights appear to be substantiated and quickly too. Thank you. The three women made such a humbling impression, and until the monks told me a little of them I simply thought them pious Russian babushkas with feet of iron and great hearts. Learning the little thought appropriate to share with me left me even more humbled. Best wishes.

As you can see, StephanG, disagreeing with or questioning his/her assertions are deemed "Non-EO". sigh.

and Like I said before The Church in Russia/ Saints would have spoken against "The Pogroms" in Broadway" if they were bad. 8)

"The Pogroms in Broadway"... an intriguing phrase that makes a mental picture of a big musical show in New York. One wonders what that is supposed to really mean.

And your personal opinion on why this is the case is?!?...

Terror and pain and death are "justified"? And what does our Master Jesus say about loving other Human Beings? Even those one might think are "enemies"?

if they were not The Church and Saints would have spoken against them in a "Official" way, this is just thier (Father Nikolai / Metropolitan Antony of Kiev) personol opinion.

And who are you to judge a Metropolitan that it is "just a personal opinion"? :ohvey:

Ebor

I never said "Terror and pain and death are "justified"? what you just posted is a lie, and you should be Punished for coming here spreading that lie, but your of the world what should I have expected :?

Lie? I did not write that YOU said "Terror and pain and death are justified". You do not seem to read other people's posts very carefully. Is English not your first language? I wrote asking if you were saying that the cruelty and attacks of the pogroms were "justified" and I used my own words to expand on what was covered by that term. I was not quoting you nor claimed to do so, so how am I "lying"?

You said that the Pogroms were justified. The Pogroms were not visits with flowers and kindness but violence and injury to other human beings. Are you saying that my statement is a "Lie"? What is your proof that the description is not true?

And out of curiosity, what do you mean by I am "of the world" other then I am an not an EO Christian, but a member of another Christian Church? You seem quite at ease to call for "punishment" of others who do not agree with you.

this question of your (And who are you to judge a Metropolitan that it is "just a personal opinion"? :ohvey:)
is asked because your outside the Church you don't understand how the Church functions, The Conscession Of The Bishops of The Russian Church AND Russian Saints" would have spoken against the Pogroms if it wasn't Justified.

Human Beings, even Bishops and Metropolitans are fallible. They do not always have the ways or means or motivation to do things. Another EO person has given you a reference to an EO Metropolitan who said that the Pogroms were wrong. If he provides more will you discount that also?

This is looking to be a repeat of other threads you have started. You start an inflammatory thread with something from some Conspiracy Site or other (most of which have not a shred of a connection to EO.) then you pontificate against anyone who questions your assertions and do not entertain any possibility that you may not be correct no matter how many other EO persons disagree with you, let alone any non-EO. You also do not actually engage in discourse and look at counter points but claim victory/"debunking" without any actual addressing of points.

Perhaps this is the start of a new "Iconophili's Big Thread of Conspiracies, Summer edition).

You're welcome. :) It is a pattern that the Original Poster has been following for sometime. There has been some wondering if, in fact, he/she does not really believe what he/she posts, but writes and links to outrageous things to get a rise out of people. A kind of "trolling" as it were, that then causes entertainment for the OP.

The three women made such a humbling impression, and until the monks told me a little of them I simply thought them pious Russian babushkas with feet of iron and great hearts. Learning the little thought appropriate to share with me left me even more humbled. Best wishes.

You saw the three ladies as the real Human Beings that they are. :) A good thing and as you say humbling .

I must addmit I'm taken back at how I have to always explain simple things, that I thought you'd get, Let me say it like this, Stephen is responding in a non-Orthodox way, when he "asserts" those who say things about jews that are not "pro-jew" are wrong, this thinking, in it's self is wrong, and it started in the non-Orthodox world scince after WW2, thats what I am saying. (Which I'm Correct) What I meant in a broadway, is God would have caused ("A Local Russian Church Council" and Prophecies from Russian Saints to happen condeming The Pogroms, AND saying that "A Punishment is coming on Russia, for The Pogroms") If what (Metropolitan Antony of Kiev) was saying not just "his" personal opinion.

When you type this I was assuming you were saying "I" wrote saying Jews deserve "Terror and death" So I thought you were deliberatly saying I typed that, so thats why I said "you should be punished."
