Maybe the Jesuits, but Franciscans I doubt, either way it does not excuse behavior on each side  , as I stated on another forum it fuels the snickering of Jews & Muslims :( .

Please, I doupt the Jesuits have enough gumption to attack anyone (unless it is JPII or Mother Angelica for being too "traditionial"--a description that can only moderatly apply to the latter). I present the following commical anecdote as a depiction of how things have been in regards to these various groups:

A man approached a Discalced (barefoot) Carmelite to ask him to pray a novena for him to get a new Ford Mustang. The Monk asked what a Ford Mustang was, and promptly replied that they did not pray for such worldly passions.

He then approached a Fransiscan and recieved a similar response.

Finally he approached a Jesuit who admitted that Mustangs were great cars, but didn't know what a Novena was.

Now I do have to say I agree overall with OOD on this one, it is despicable and a sign of failure (but does anyone know who won--just mildly curious).

Yikes...

To me the whole situation is just sad. But to perptuate the horrendous actions with thoughts of hatred only fuels the hatred of others. The response by Jakub stated these actions only show instability in the faith to others who at times look to us as Christians for an exaple.

I will quote here the words of St. Francis of Assisi. who, although was a heretic, did have some words of wisdom. Hey, even a blind guy can hit the target by mistake...

"We must preach the Gospel always... and when necassary, to use words..."

Rather than use Francis of Assisi, I prefer this one from Saint Seraphim of Sarov who said, “Acquire the Spirit of peace, and a thousand around you will find salvation.”
