Well hey, if it's ok to obtain such information stolen from private clergy lists, then it must be okay to tap their phones and read their mail, and hide in the bushes outside the chancery when they have meetings, listening in to see "who" is a crypto-communist "unionist"!

/\ Well said.

How can this be a scandal; it isn't even news. What's more, other than being inflamatory it is practically meaningless.

Suppose for a moment it were authentic. It is now three years later and ROCOR is still not in communion with the MP. And let's face it, conspiracy theories in general are just boring at this point. Yes I believe monsters and boogiemen do exist, but this authoritative "list" proves nothing to me.

What? There be devilry about, you say!? Then show me auld deil's fingerprints on it.

Sincerely,
Joseph

PS. Sorry, Nicholas. Please forgive my tone. I was going for "cavilier."

Evil Wizards

Post by Joseph D »

Just a bumper for my above post...

If one were to see the parish priest as an evil wizard, it should be for the evidence of one's own senses and not over some Byzantine politic.

Why not reunion?

What deceitful tactics?

I thought it was good to post as it is a public document on a public site. I figure many will be interested in it.

I ask out of curiosity, why reunion wouldn't be a good thing?
(with MP of course.) I am a Deacon in the ROCA, and have been praying for such to occur. :P

Dn. Tikhon,

Greetings! Welcome to the forum. The reasons that I fear such a union can be found on this thread. Unfortunately, when I've discuss my fears with people (e.g., priests), they normally start talking about how the MP will withdraw from the WCC, how they have renounced Sergianism, etc. Well I think that'd be great if they took care of all those problems! :) Unfortunately, my own worries go beyond those which are regularly discussed, and our fine bishops seemingly do not believe that these other issues need to be discussed before communion happens. One very good priest I've talked to implied that we'd take care of other concerns later; unfortunately, I don't think that'll be very likely because of the nature of the other problems. Anyway, I'm trying to avoid saying that the "sky is falling" (since I think the sky is beautifully stable and right where God wills it to be), but I do have concerns, and after having talked about them with the priest that I normally talk about such issues with, I'm ready to talk with others now as well. :)

My understanding of the situation has always been that the concern with reunion with Moscow was over the fact that many of the Hierarchy were KGB, including the Late MP. In other words, really for more political reasons than anything else.....
