Father Siluan:

Is mankind so perfect that he cannot be at times wrong about something? Have you never come to realize that a long held belief was wrong? (I do not necessarily mean just about religious belief) Why then is it so impossible to believe that these men have also come to such a conclusion. As a Man of God why is it so hard for you and others such as you to believe that God works in mysterious ways? Why is it so hard for you to believe that God might be working towards something in all this mess? Or do you not believe that God works in all our lives?

The way you and others portray God...He is impotent and unable to do anything in this world except by your leave....because you have deemed it worthy.

I think you and others need to re-examine your belief in God.

Someone recently wrote the following.....

Think about the day you die, and facing God.

Picture this: In His right hand, He holds an icon. The icon is of you, as He envisioned you when He created you. In His lefthand, He holds a mirror, and you get to judge how much the image in the mirror resembles the image in the icon. The catch is, since you are standing before God, you will be unable to fake it, or gloss the image up at all.

The point of this exercise is to help you to realize that God created you with certain gifts and talents, which He expects you to use -- not necessarily to the Betterment of Mankind, but to His greater glory. He had something specific in mind when He created you.

Now what are you left with?

It made realize that we focus on everything but GOD. I think in all this it is passed time to let GOD handle this problem and not faulty mankind.

But, dear Katya...man is the one at fault. It is out of his free will that he makes these devestating mistakes, whether layman or clergy. God doesn't "handle" a problem, He gives us the direction to the right path, but it is up to man to give of his free will to accept the direction.

Fr. Alexander is at fault with his stance now...to be ecumenical. Fr. Alexander "focused on everything but God". I don't know his motives or his worldly desires, but his stance is clear.

It is time to let God handle this? My dear, God has been there since the time of Adam and Eve. He has called out to mankind and He has sent His Son to be crucified for mankind and yet there are individuals that still defy Him. The destiny of our salvation is not by God's power but by our FREE WILL. He just supplied the invitation to the banquet.

Yes, man can be wrong at times and Fr. Alexander is wrong or in prelest about being pro-MP. He wrote a wonderful execerpt against the MP many years ago and now he seems to have forgotten the arguement.

Why are you so blind to the ecumenical activities of the MP? They are there and let's be adults about this and face the facts. Unless you are working for some propaganda anti-ROCOR group. Save your breath sister...you're words are a waste of time. St. Theophane the Recluse and St. Seraphim of Sarov and St. John of Kronstadt and St. John of San Francisco and St. Tsar Nicholas would never have accepted it. And let us not forget St. Mark of Ephesus.

Ecumenism is spiritually wrong and once we all agree on that then we can all work on our internal differences.
